Accounting Clerk II Job Description

 

 

 

The Accounting Clerk II will perform all or some of the following Job description:

  • Perform accounts receivable functions such as preparing daily cash and sales envelopes, creating and distributing over/short notices, and auditing daily vouchers and voids

  • Perform accounts payable functions such as checking and processing invoices, and researching discrepancies and unpaid invoices

  • Perform payroll functions such as processing bi-weekly payroll, reviewing payroll registers, and processing draft check requests

  • Validate daily sales transactions to the ledger; investigate and correct cost allocation errors

  • Act as a local expert in all areas of cash handling; conduct department cash audits and track cashier audits and blind drop audits

  • Evaluate reports and audits

  • Utilize exception based reporting tools to identify control deficiencies and enact procedures to minimize losses.

Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill For Accounting Clerk II Job

  • 2 years payroll and/or clerical accounting experience

  • Ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic and outgoing manner

  • Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with customers

  • Basic keyboarding or other repetitive motions.

Minimum Education Requirements / Certification / Licensure For Accounting Clerk II Job

  • Bachelor's degree.
