Job Summary:

The Accounting Technician under the direction of the Controller will assist in the smooth and efficient operation of the Accounting Department in order to maintain accurate, complete accounting records and to provide timely financial data to support informed business decisions.

Job Description:

The Accounting Technician will perform all or some of the following job description:

  • The Accounting Technician will prepare and document journal entries

  • Perform data entry of appropriate journals

  • Create computer generated reports to verify and analyze Accounting information

  • Prepare monthly reconciliation, and maintain subsidiary ledgers for non-patient billings

  • He/She will perform other accounting and clerical duties as needed

  • The Accounting Technician will process payment vouchers, assist in policy/procedure review and identify and resolve discrepancies

  • He/She will examine invoices and supporting document for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with policy and procedures, process payment voucher in OASIS

Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill For Accounting Technician Job

  • He/She should have two years experience in General Accounting preferable in a multi-entity corporation. Experience should include cash, automated financial applications (Lawson preferred), journal entries, bank account reconciliations, and participation in month-end closing and reporting process

  • The Accounting Technician should have knowledge and understanding of GAAP, automated financial processing, MicroSoft Office experience (including Excel and Word)

  • He/She should be proficient in Excel, 10-key by touch, and good written and verbal communication skills

  • He/She must have strong organizational skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work well as a team member

  • The Accounting Technician must be able to deal appropriately with confidential information and have a high-level of attention to accuracy and detail

  • He/She must be self-motivated and work well independently in order to handle multiple task and meet critical deadlines.

  • High school graduate and at least eight units of college level courses in accounting.

Example 2: Accounting Technician - Cashier Job Description

Job Summary:

The Accounting Technician - Cashier, reporting to the Accounting Manager, will assist the Accounting Department with all payments of goods and services necessary for the basic operations. He/She will compile and maintain accounts payable.

Job Description:

The Accounting Technician - Cashier will perform all or some of the following job description:

  • The Accounting Technician - Cashier will accept cash, checks, and credit cards for processing from customers

  • He/She will inquire on customer balances for customers and write up issues for A/R Tech

  • He/She will process and enter receipts

  • The Accounting Technician - Cashier will receive cash, process credit card transactions and make copies for submittal to accounts receivable for input into the accounting system

  • He/She will maintain and manage files

  • Set up and coordinate meetings for the accounting department when requested by the Controller

  • The Accounting Technician - Cashier will Assist accounts payables and purchasing as requested

  • He/She will ensure accuracy of mathematical computations

  • Identify and verify customer accounts for balances for all customers

Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill For Accounting Technician - Cashier Job

  • The Accounting Technician - Cashier should be knowledgeable in Microsoft excel, word and outlook

  • He/She should exhibit good communication skills in writing, verbally and on the phone

  • He/She should have knowledge of 10 key

  • The Accounting Technician - Cashier should possess knowledge of accounting principles

  • General Knowledge of accounting and understanding of general ledger accounts and how they relate to invoices

  • He/She should demonstrate good mathematical skills
