Cashier - Part Time Job Description

 

 

 

 

Job Summary:

The Cashier - Part Time will obtain or receive merchandise, total bill, accept payment, and make change for customers in retail store.

Job Description:

The Cashier - Part Time  will perform all or some of the following Job description:

  • Operate cash register to record all transactions

  • Direct customers to merchandise requested

  • Assist customers by phone or in person and respond to requests for orders or information for product or services

  • Answer customer's questions concerning location, price, and use of merchandise

  • Complete forms, determine charges for service or merchandise requested, collect deposits, prepare order and delivery records and complete merchandise returns

  • Solicit sale of new or additional services or products

  • Respond to complaints by acting within guidelines or requesting assistance from supervisors or managers.
     

Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill For Cashier - Part Time Job

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
     

Minimum Education Requirements / Certification / Licensure For Cashier - Part Time Job
