General Accounting Manager Job Description

 

 

 

 

The General Accounting Manager performs various accounting duties/tasksJob Summary:

The General Accounting Manager  is to perform general accounting functions, including Regulatory and Corporate Reporting, Fixed Assets, Intercompany balances and settlements with other businesses.

They are also to coordinate Accounts Payable and Account Reconciliation processes.
 

Job Description

The General Accounting Manager will perform all or some of the following Job description:

  • Provide leadership and coordination of Fixed Asset and Tax functions at a business level

  • Manage and maintain records

  • Coordinate Accounts Payable and expense accrual process across multiple sites and functional groups within the Retail Sales Finance organization during the month end and quarterly close process

  • Review receivable interfaces and resolve mapping issues

  • Review receivable loss reserves and resolve variances

  • Take active role in the monthly general ledger close process

  • Perform General Ledger account reconciliations process and reporting for the business

  • Perform the business’ Corporate and Bank Reporting

  • Improve controllership within the organization with process improvement projects, including SOX process flowcharts and Controllership Self Assessments Dashboards

  • Lead and manage a team to deliver results

  • Work with the Company team to ensure that account reconciliations are appropriately monitored and completed

  • Work on special projects as assigned.
     

Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill For General Accounting Manager Job

  • Proficient in Oracle financial systems

  • 3+ years management experience

  • 5+ years accounting experience

  • Strong controllership and analytical skills

  • Self starter, highly motivated, ability to work independently

  • Ability to balance multiple projects and prioritize tasks

  • Attention to detail

  • Strong analytical, problem solving skills

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Flexible team player with good interpersonal skills.
     

Minimum Education Requirements / Certification / Licensure For General Accounting Manager Job

  • Accounting degree

  • CPA certification.
