Job Summary:

The Manager Accounting is responsible for maintaining accurate and reliable accounting records, ensuring that transactions are properly recorded in the Company's general ledger in accordance with internal and external accounting principles and practices and related internal controls.

The Manager Accounting will perform all or some of the following Job description:

• Supervise and mentor a staff of accountants with varying degrees of accounting knowledge and experience

• Maintain advanced knowledge of and apply current accounting practices and regulatory requirements

• Direct, review and ensure completion of complex accounting tasks, as well as financial and regulatory reports

• Monitor and assess current processes and procedures, as well as implement new processes and procedures to maintain and enhance controls over accuracy of data

• Develop methodologies and implement change in internal accounting systems, as well as manage complex accounting projects in support of business goals

• Influence and negotiate with senior management on issues of policy or strategic direction

• Report analysis and reconciliation

• State Subrogation accrual

• Perform Payable and Receivable reserves

• Perform automation projects and troubleshooting

• Perform Balance Sheet review during close

• Perform month-end & quarter-end variance comments

• Perform journal entry, reporting, and account reconciliation checklists and review

• Perform interim and year-end audits; validate data requests and audit templates.
   

• 7+ years of accounting experience

• 2+ years of staff management experience

• Experience and strong skills with accounting process; documentation, improvement and communication

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Strong organization skills, attention to detail, and leadership skills

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills required; Access skills a plus

• Experience with PeopleSoft and Hyperion Essbase is preferred

• Proficient in Oracle financial systems.

• Accounting degree

• MBA and/or CPA certification.
