The
Mortgage Accounting Clerk II is responsible for
handling the various check logs within
the department and processing loan
disposition forms.
Job
Description
The
Mortgage Accounting Clerk II will perform all or
some of the
following Job description:
-
Process complex and more exception
based, payments, lockbox rejects,
street mail, and loan dispositions
submitted by various departments
within the firm
-
Perform regular communication
between various departments within
the organization such as: Default,
Customer Service, Tax, Investor
Accounting and GL/Recon
-
Handle routine and more complex Task
inquiries.
-
Collaborate with various areas to
ensure that customer’s accounts are
accurate
-
Copy
checks out to departments as well as
scan checks to the bank & balancing
-
Process check/wires to payoff loans
and handle exceptions related to
payoff processing
-
Make
contact with Title Companies, MLHL
Branches, attorneys, external and
internal customers
-
Responsible for identifying all
incoming wires to MLHL payment
clearing account, in addition to
researching out of balance
conditions on the payment clearing
reconciliation
-
Assist with some training needs
within the department
-
Participate in quality control
processes within the department
-
Responsible for manually calculating
payoffs
-
Generate and submit on-line letter
writer letters
-
Responsible for script and exception
processing for such processes as
suspense processing, payment
processing, charge back processes
and payoff scripts
-
Work
with Release area and title
companies to reinstate MLHL/FHHL
liens when closing agent pays off
wrong loan
-
Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned by
management.
Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill

years related work experience

Strong understanding of process
stops and rules related to loss
mitigations, foreclosures,
bankruptcy, etc..
