The Senior Accountant will perform all or some of the following Job description:

• Review monthly closing entries prepared by accountants and assistants

• Assist in the establishment of closing deadlines and monitor activity to ensure a timely closing

• Review current pronouncements for application to financial reporting

• The Senior Accountant will respond to management, executives and other staff regarding the appropriate accounting treatment of financial activities

• Assist in reviewing company level financials, addressing concerns and questions regarding variances and activity

• Respond to outside agencies, insurance providers, government agencies, audit firm, tax specialists and others to provide monthly documentation and other information

• Assist in coordinating audit related activity

• The Senior Accountant will review reconciliations of general ledger accounts ensuring accuracy and integrity of monthly financial reporting

• He/She will review and prepare monthly financial statements for presentation and review

• Work with others to develop and establish clear and efficient reporting goals and to ensure appropriate presentation of financial data

• The Senior Accountant will review work performed by accounting staff.

• Knowledge of GAAP and a general understanding of the operation of financial information systems (general ledger, timekeeping, payroll, accounts payable, assets, etc.)

• He/She should possess the ability to prioritize, organize, problem-solve and manage time effectively

• The Senior Accountant should possess personal computer skills, such as word processing and spreadsheets and the ability to operate a 10-key by touch

• He/She must have the ability to keep sensitive and confidential information private.

• Bachelor's degree with a focus on accounting and general business and a minimum of five (5) years related experience required, with some experience in a supervisory role required
• Progress towards CPA certification preferred.
