Job Summary:
The
Senior Accounting Assistant will, with
limited supervision, handle more complex
or escalated transactions; perform
routine and repetitive accounting
clerical duties in accordance with
standard procedures in general
accounting, accounts payable, accounts
receivable, collections, finance,
payroll or other financial departments. Job
Description:
The
Senior Accounting Assistant will perform
all or some of the following Job
description:

Perform timely cash application
-
Reconcile several bank accounts for
incoming and outgoing funds, posts
information and balances A/P trial
balance to G/L or subsidiary ledgers,
processes payment and compiles segments
of monthly closings, annual reports,
etc.

Serve
as primary point of contact for several
clients to perform reconciliation on
their outstanding activities
-
Post detailed entries to accounting
records and handle routine transactions
such as allotments, disbursements,
payroll operations, voucher preparation
and remittances and prepare standard
journal and ledger entries
-
Perform distribution and scanning
functions
-
Process high volume of checks, ACH and
wires
-
Prepare and verify various standard
accounting entries for financial data
processing system, reconcile report
discrepancies and problems
-
Utilize
adding machine or desk calculator
-
Contact
other departments, customers and
outside agencies to resolve problems
-
Follow well-established routines to
accomplish assignments such as sorting
and filing accounting records and data,
collecting simple information, posting
minor records, compiling routine data,
making and checking basic calculations,
preparing and sorting mail, answering
phones and simple typing.
Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill

Strong
knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word,
Outlook and Access

Strong knowledge of Oracle

Strong 10 key and typing skill

Ability to calculate figures and
amounts such as aging, percentages and
outstanding

Strong verbal and written
communication skills

Ability to solve practical problems
and deal with a variety of concrete
variables in situations where only
limited standardization exists

Ability
to interpret a variety of instructions
furnished in written, oral, diagram or
schedule form
