Summary:
The
Senior Accounting Clerk will, under
general supervision, perform varied
accounts payable/receivable or payroll
duties assuring the maintenance of
proper operations and accurate records.

Description:
The
Senior Accounting Clerk will perform
all or some of the following Job
description:
-
Process purchase orders, verify
accounts payable invoices, ensure
timely and correct payments and
maintain vendor files
-
Process and account for monies in
accounts receivable/payable area,
monitor departmental budgets,
prepare checks, and report cash flow
needs for payment of invoice/bills
-
Create and maintain PC spreadsheets
to ensure proper tracking of funds
and prepare monthly reports
-
Prepare bank deposits and daily cash
balance reports and reconcile bank
statements; prepare compliance
reports
-
Perform some accounting functions
and understand basic accounting
principles
-
Process payroll documents, confirm
timesheets and overtime, verify
deductions, charge appropriate
accounts, maintain records of leave
accrual and payment of insurance
premiums
-
Answer complaints and questions from
the general public.
Minimum Requirements / Knowledge /
Skill For Senior Accounting Clerk Job

years experience in Accounting
-
Knowledge of basic accounting or
business practices and methods
-
Knowledge of standard computer
software, including word processing,
database and spreadsheet
applications
-
Knowledge of public
relations/customer service
principles, practices and techniques
-
Ability to develop and maintain
awareness of occupational hazards
and safety precautions
-
Skilled in following safety
practices and recognizing hazards
-
Ability to communicate effectively.
