Oil and Gas Mechanical Engineer Job Description





Job Description:

The Oil and Gas Mechanical Engineer will perform all or some of the following Job description:

  • Provide engineering and project leadership

  • Projects involve process and piping design and analysis, oil and gas pipelines, pumping and compressor systems.

Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill For Oil and Gas Mechanical Engineer Job

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in the oil & gas, refining, and pipeline industries

  • Understanding of oil and gas process design

  • Experience with oil and gas general facility engineering support tasks

  • Ability to read and prepare project drawings including P&IDs, plans, sections, and isometric piping drawings and bills of materials

  • Experience with process piping layout, bulk storage tank farm design, pipeline design, pigging and hydrotesting

  • Ability to perform general facility engineering mass balance, heat transfer, fluid hydraulics and piping stress analysis calculations

  • Familiarity with supporting project hazard recognition through process hazard analysis

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Desire to lead inter-disciplinary projects and project teams

  • Experience with ASME B31.3, B31.4, and B31.8 codes as well as familiarity with other applicable ASME and API codes as they relate to process piping and infrastructure.    

Minimum Education Requirements / Certification / Licensure For Oil and Gas Mechanical Engineer Job

  •  State P.E. or E.I.T.
