Business Development Manager Job Description

 

 

 

 

Job Summary:

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for meeting and exceeding monthly sales quota objectives by acquiring the accounts of mid-sized businesses within assigned geographic territory. He/She will sell products and services to gain new business through prospecting, cold-calling, networking and generating leads and referrals.

Job Description:

The Business Development Manager will perform all or some of the following Job description:

  • Analyze customer needs and utilize solution-based selling techniques to demonstrate the value of Company products and services

  • Recommend wireless solutions with regard to price plans, data and other enhanced services, handsets and accessories to negotiate and close business

  • Generate leads and referrals through prospecting, cold calling and networking

  • Identify customer needs and utilize solution-based selling techniques to fully demonstrate the value of Company products and services

  • Recommend wireless solutions with regard to price plans, data and other enhanced services, handsets and accessories

  • Negotiate and close deals

  • Continuously update knowledge of products, services, industry trends and the competitive dynamics of the marketplace

  • Participate in training opportunities on products and services and attend sales meetings. Increase presence in the community and promote Company presence in the community

  • Provide training for new customers, handle equipment issues, enable a smooth transition to the Support team and reduce Churn

  • Fully utilize all sales force automation, funnel management and prospecting tools

  • Manage sales funnel and generate reporting on sales activities and forecasting.

Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill For Business Development Manager Job

  • Ability to identify customer needs and recommend the appropriate Company products and services

  • Ability to determine return on investment when seeking and retaining customers

  • Ability to fully utilize all sales force automation, funnel management and prospecting tools to manage sales funnel and generate reporting on sales activities and forecasting

  • Ability to provide training to new customers and handle equipment issues

  • Valid Drivers license and satisfactory driving record and proof of insurance

  • 2 Yrs. Outside sales experience with demonstrated history of sales achievements in a commissioned environment

  • 1 Yr. Cold calling Experience

  • Ability to absorb large amounts of technical knowledge

  • Strong listening, communication and time management skills

  • Proven track record of success in a commissioned environment.

Minimum Education Requirements / Certification / Licensure For Business Development Manager Job

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Bachelor's Degree-General Studies Preferred.
