The
Charge Nurse - Radiation Oncology is
responsible for the coordination of
patient care services for the clinical
specialty, patient population, assigned
unit/shift.

Charge Nurse - Radiation Oncology will perform

Promote the optimal level of patient
care

patient workflow on a daily basis

Serve
as a role model and clinical expert
for the delivery of an advanced
level of professional nursing care

maintaining optimal patient care
standards in the clinical setting.
Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill
For Charge Nurse - Radiation
Oncology Job

3
years acute care nursing within the
past 5 years, at least one year of
which is within area of specialty.
FTE status must be .8 or above

Demonstrate effective communication
skills

Demonstrate leadership
experience/activities, including
working knowledge of PDSA Quality

maintain an advanced level of
practice and act as a clinical
resource to staff

Demonstrate basic computer
competence related to unit and
patient care functions

Proficiency with patient care
equipment, e.g. IV pumps, CBS
machines, PCA pumps, etc.

of nursing

Bachelor's degree

Current State Registered Nurse
licensure

Specialty certification

Current Basic Cardiac Life Support
