Job Summary:
The
Facilities Nurse - Licensed Vocation
Nurse is responsible for providing
professional medical and industrial
hygiene expertise at Company's
facilities, e.g. shipyard. He/She will
promote workers safety, managing
injuries and illnesses that return
workers to their duties in a caring,
legal and efficient manner, providing
first aid treatment and communicating
with any doctors or clinics treating
employees, and maintaining all necessary
records and processes.

Description:
The
Facilities Nurse - Licensed Vocation
Nurse will perform
all or some of the following Job
description:

Provide advanced first aid treatment
with diagnosis and treatment plan
for minor injuries/illnesses and
initiate documentation
-
Conduct all follow-up wound checks,
bandage changes, strains and muscle
injuries and illnesses for workers
-
Coordinate physical therapy
appointments and doctor follow-up
visits with employees; determine if
a doctor is required and assess if a
specialist is needed for complex
injuries/illnesses
-
Stay
in constant contact with any doctors
treating employees
-
Gather information to help determine
questionable injuries/illnesses
-
Present information to medical
and/or insurance professionals
-
Conduct urine drug and alcohol
screens on pre-placement, random,
“for cause”, and post-accident tests
-
Maintain up to-date and complete
medical records, including
verification, for all pre-placement
and employee medical records
-
Provide emergency care/response
throughout facility
-
Perform all audiometric testing and
respirator fit tests for employees
to comply with OSHA mandates
-
Maintain the medical facility,
including preventative maintenance
on equipment, supplies, and
cleanliness
-
Assemble and analyze medical
incident data and routinely provide
statistical information as requested
-
Investigate medical incidents and
ensure they are thoroughly
investigated, including photography,
research, witness interviews and
preparation of written reports and
corrective action
-
Author, implement, revise and
monitor medical and health related
policies and procedures to minimize
medical injuries/illnesses
-
Share
and use Best Practices with/from
other company sites
-
Provide training to others on
medical related areas, including
programs to minimize
injuries/illnesses.
Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill

Nurse Job

Basic
proficiency with MS Office for data
collection, analysis, writing and
reporting
-
Ability to communicate verbally and
in writing; work with and understand
employees for whom English is a
second language
-
Highly motivated, organized,
results-driven self-starter with an
ability to work issues across a
multi-layered organization in a team
approach
-
4 years experience in occupational
medicine in an industrial or
manufacturing environment.
