Job Summary:
The Nurse
Practitioner-Neurosurgery will provide
direct care to patients within the
practice of the collaborating physician,
as well as serving as a consultant,
researcher, and educator. He/She will
promote collaboration between the
multiple disciplines to ensure cost
effective and quality patient care.

Description:
The
Nurse Practitioner-Neurosurgery will perform
all or some of the following Job
description:

Perform patient history and physical
examinations
-
Diagnose, treats, and manage acute
and chronic health problems
-
Prescribe medications, including
controlled substances as delegated
in collaborative practice agreement
-
Receive and dispense stock and
sample medications as delegated in
collaborative practice agreement and
approved within RUMG
-
Perform advanced practice procedures
as defined in Collaborative
Agreement, which are within the
scope of the collaborating physician
practice, are in accordance with
accepted standards of advanced
practice nursing, and are consistent
with the skills and training of
the nurse practitioner
-
Consult other health care team
members in collaboration with
physician to meet patient needs,
while ensuring continuity of care
-
Provide phone triage to assess
patient's needs and conditions and
responds appropriately
-
Coordinate patient care activities
with other members of the health
care team, hospital, or community
-
Provide education and support to
nursing staff, house staff, and
other members of the health care
team.

as Registered Nurse and Advanced
Practice Nurse

ACLS and CPR certification.
