Staff Nurse/CT/Float Job Description

 

 

 

 

Job Description:

The Staff Nurse/CT/Float will perform all or some of the following Job description:

  • Maintain an environment of safety for patients, self and others and support patient safety initiatives

  • Assess patient's condition, including biophysical, psychosocial, age specific needs, and safety needs

  • Document patient's status according to unit specific and nursing division policies and procedures

  • Develop an individualized plan of care utilizing the nursing and medical diagnosis

  • Collaborate with other health care team members in formulating plan

  • Implement the nursing plan of care on assigned patients

  • Evaluate patient's status, nursing instructions, appropriateness of the nursing plan of care, and outcomes of the care provided

  • Initiate a patient education plan according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by Physician and/or hospital procedure, including patient and family instruction as well as discharge planning

  • Participate in performance improvement and quality improvement activities

  • Adhere to the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics

  • Recognize, support, and utilize evidence based nursing practices.

Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill For Staff Nurse/CT/Float Job

  • Open Heart OR experience.

Minimum Education Requirements / Certification / Licensure For Staff Nurse/CT/Float Job

  • Diploma, Associate's degree (A.A.) or Bachelor's degree (BSN) from an accredited school of Nursing

  • Registered Nurse (RN)/ Current NC Licensure or holding temporary license pending endorsement in NC

  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
