The
Staff Nurse - Emergency Services will perform
all or some of the following Job
description:
Maintain an environment of safety
for patients, self and others and
support patient safety initiatives
Assess patient's condition,
including biophysical, psychosocial
and age specific needs
Document patient's status, according
to unit specific procedure
Develop and individualized plan of
care utilizing the nursing and
medical diagnosis
Collaborate with other health team
care members in formulating plan
Implement the nursing plan of care
on assigned patients
Evaluate patient's status, nursing
instructions, appropriateness of the
nursing plan of care, and outcomes
of the care provided
Initiate a patient education plan
according to the individualized
needs of the patient, as prescribed
by Physician and/or hospital
procedure, including patient and
family instruction as well as
discharge planning
Adhere to the American Nurses
Association Code of Ethics
Participate in performance
improvement and quality improvement
activities
Recognize, support, and utilize
evidence based nursing practices.
Ability
to read, analyze, and interpret common
scientific and technical journals,
financial reports, and legal documents
Ability
to respond to common inquiries or
complaints from customers, regulatory
agencies, or members of the business
community
Ability
to write speeches and articles for
publication that conforms to prescribed
style and format
Ability
to effectively present information to
top management, public groups, and/or
boards of directors
Ability
to work with mathematical concepts such
as probability and statistical
inference, and fundamentals of plane and
solid geometry and trigonometry
