Medical Assistant - Medical Group
Scheduler will answer telephones,
take complete and accurate message
and and relay information to
appropriate party to support
operational aspects of patient care

Verify lab requisition for
completeness and accuracy
-
Review lab coding to validate
consistency with all aspects of
billing requirements
-
The
Medical Assistant - Medical Group
Scheduler will execute with the
patient any necessary paperwork that
is required such as ABNs to ensure
an accurate claim and support
payments for services
-
Retrieve information from files as
requested and assembles paperwork
and reference material as requested
by patients or providers.

The
Medical Assistant - Medical Group
Scheduler will be responsible for
following HIPAA confidentiality
guidelines while performing all
duties
-
Responsible for responding to
requests within the scope of the job
to include mailing or faxing
material to PHS departments and
other appropriate facilities
-
The
Medical Assistant - Medical Group
Scheduler will initiate and
coordinate correspondence between
physicians and patients to include
monthly reminders, no show letters,
referrals etc.

Maintain supplies and equipment for
department
-
Maintain and foster effective
customer relations with patients,
providers and the public by
listening, responding, and
documenting customer phone and
walk-in inquiries and complaints
-
The
Medical Assistant - Medical Group
Scheduler will attempt to resolve
complaints in the moment and enters
complaints/compliments into Advocate
-
Schedule patient appointments
according to guidelines by providing
documentation of scheduled
appointments, procedural
instructions and location directions
-
Work
in collaboration with Triage Nurse
and Providers to monitor daily
patient schedule and identify “no
shows” for rescheduling
-
Place
reminder calls to patients
-
The
Medical Assistant - Medical Group
Scheduler will perform scheduling to
ensure physician, procedure room and
equipment availability
-
Schedule and instruct patients for
Out-patient procedures
-
Execute the process necessary to
support referrals and authorizations
for procedures and medications. This
requires interaction with insurance
companies and communication with the
patients
-
Support the accurate and timely
compilation and maintenance of
medical record documentation for
other physician inquiries
-
The
Medical Assistant - Medical Group
Scheduler will assign and assist
with patient preparation/rooming
patients, as directed by visit plan
-
Perform lab procedures, as ordered
by Medical Provider or as directed
by visit plan
-
Assist Medical Providers with
procedures
-
The
Medical Assistant - Medical Group
Scheduler will document on medical
record within scope of practice
-
Assist in screening of patients, in
collaboration with Care Manager
-
Interact effectively with customers,
providing instructions and
information, both written and
verbal, as appropriate
-
The
Medical Assistant - Medical Group
Scheduler will maintain established
practice policies and procedures,
objectives, quality program, safety,
environment and infection control
standards
-
Seek
help, communicate and cooperate with
Medical Provider and team
appropriately
-
Attend monthly meetings
-
Participate in Process Improvement
Teams
-
The
Medical Assistant - Medical Group
Scheduler may be responsible for
opening and distributing mail
-
Assist with orientation of new staff
and providers
-
Perform other functions as required.
