The
Patient Scheduler - Front Receptionist will perform
all or some of the following Job
description:

The
Patient Scheduler - Front Receptionist
will register patients, obtain and enter
all necessary demographic and financial
related information needed as record for
registration and billing of all
patients' visits
-
Coordinate information from patients to
ensure accurate billing and maximum
reimbursement
-
The
Patient Scheduler - Front Receptionist
will ensure completeness of all
registration forms offering assistance
if needed
-
Establish
a new electronic patient account/record
and accurately enter all patient
information into the computer system
according to established procedures
-
The
Patient Scheduler - Front Receptionist
will update and correct patient account
information in the computer system
-
Ensure
new and updated documentation is filed
in the medical record
-
Verify
insurance coverage eligibility prior to
the provision of services according to
established procedures
-
The
Patient Scheduler - Front Receptionist
will inform patient of and collect
copays and deductibles prior to
scheduled services
-
Prepare
and issue receipts, process credit card
payments and properly perform daily cash
handling procedures and end-of-day
accounting functions
-
Provide
information on account status
-
The
Patient Scheduler - Front Receptionist
will prepare daily deposit at end of
shift for all patient payments for the
day

He/She
will be accountable for maintaining
daily balancing of cash drawer

Greet,
assist and direct patients appropriately

The
Patient Scheduler - Front Receptionist
will obtain patient signatures according
to policy

Maintain
a strong customer focus while working
collaboratively within a team multiple
demands and patient needs

Treat all
patient information confidentially and
in accordance with established
guidelines

The
Patient Scheduler - Front Receptionist
will answer telephone, screen calls,
provide information to patients and
other callers as directed
He/She
will identify and print lab and x-ray
requisitions for patients
Assist
with error corrections and correcting
accounts from assorted work reports
The
Patient Scheduler - Front Receptionist
will
perform
other duties according to department
needs.

must be skilled in medical terminology &
diagnosis codes
He/She
must have experience in PC use in
windows with proficient keyboarding
skills

environment with constant interruptions
Possess

service oriented with strong
interpersonal skills and phone etiquette

and experience in insurance coverage
Familiarity with insurance terminology,
referrals and
authorization/pre-certification used by
third party payers
Possess
experience handling money including
balancing and processing patient
payments
Possess
cognitive
ability for organizing multiple concepts
and information, analyzing data, and
basic problems
The
Patient Scheduler - Front Receptionist
should have the
ability
to write clear, concise, and legible
message to ensure physician and staff
comprehension
Possess
experience in appointment making
assuring accuracy while adhering to
established clinic scheduling
guidelines.
Minimum Education Requirements /
