Job Summary:
The
Principal Scheduler will be responsible
for developing,
establishing, and maintaining all aspects of
either the cost control effort or the
planning/scheduling effort on one or
more of the larger, more complex and
demanding projects
He/She will
utilize
his/her broad experience, expertise, and
exposure to various types of company
projects and clients.

The
Principal Scheduler will perform
all or some of the following Job
description:

The
Principal Scheduler will develop Master and Project baseline and
milestone schedules; Progress and status
updates; Variance analysis; and Recovery
planning
-
Provide guidance, direction, and
specialized assistance for the
resolution of difficult and complex
project control problems
-
Interface
with clients, attend regular meetings,
and provide statistical reports
-
The
Principal Scheduler will provide project and company management
with the necessary tools for project
cost control
-
May participate in the
development of the work breakdown
structure, interfacing with all affected
departments
-
May lead a team who are qualified to
analyze, evaluate, and forecast project
costs and performance
-
Coordinate
staffing requirements, assign and
supervise project work activities, and
train personnel
-
The
Principal Scheduler will complete performance
reviews and provide personnel
development for the assigned employees
-
Accumulate and access historical
data, such as performance experience,
for use in maintaining a realistic basis
for future planning and forecasting
-
The
Principal Scheduler may lead a staff who are qualified to
analyze, evaluate, forecast, and report
schedule status against an established
baseline
-
Assess the impact(s) of
design/construction changes and schedule
slippages
-
Develop or maintain an
established system to show the hierarchy
of plans and schedules
-
Keep project
and company management fully informed
-
The
Principal Scheduler will customize project control systems to
meet specific project requirements
-
May serve as a Chief Project Control
Engineer, if project requirements
dictate
He/She will perform other responsibilities
associated with this position as may be
appropriate.
Minimum Requirements / Knowledge /
Skill For Principal Scheduler Job
-
The
Principal Scheduler should have the
ability to manage other schedulers and
interface with PMs and other senior
management - will also hands on
experience
-
Proficient PC
skills including a proficiency in
various software used in the project
controls department, such as Excel,
Primavera P6, and DMCS
-
The
Principal Scheduler should have
leadership
potential, as well as familiarity with
industry practices.
Minimum Education Requirements /
Certification / Licensure For
Principal Scheduler Job
-
4-year degree in Engineering or
Construction Management (or related
field) and 10-12 years of related
work experience.
