Job Summary:
The
Scheduler will
be responsible for the development,
updating, and maintenance of project
schedules and associated resource plans.

The
Scheduler will perform
all or some of the following Job
description:

The
Scheduler will be responsible for
one discipline area with minimal
supervision
-
Coach
and/or provide support to junior
schedulers within assigned
discipline
-
Communicate any scheduling issues to
the Lead Scheduler and suggest
options for resolution
-
The
Scheduler will determine primary
time table for deliverables with
minimal supervision from others
-
Assist in coordinating with
disciplines to gain project team
agreement
He/She will determine scope of
changes and impacts with minimal
supervision
The
Scheduler will
sequence major work priorities into
a logical schedule with minimal
supervision
Understand critical paths that
anchor the overall project
completion date
The
Scheduler will
modify critical paths based on Lead
Scheduler's input
Assist in developing workarounds to
overcome obstacles in the critical
path
Integrate, review, and conduct
initial validation of critical path
relationships
The
Scheduler will
calculate total float to report the
critical path
He/She will provide options for
overcoming negative critical path
impacts
Identify Company resource
constraints and communicate to Lead
Scheduler
Integrate constraints into project
schedule and report schedule impacts
to Lead Scheduler
The
Scheduler will
coordinate with Estimating and
Construction to determine work
durations by commodity
Evaluate durations against
historical or similar projects with
minimal supervision
Input
scheduling data into Primavera 6
The
Scheduler will
collect and input progress updates
Update remaining durations.
Minimum Requirements / Knowledge /
Skill For Scheduler Job
-
The
Scheduler should have a minimum of 2
years supervisory experience
-
He/She
should have experience in a complex
multi-product, build-to-order production
environment creating project and master
schedules and resource plans
-
He/She
should possess the ability to coach
junior schedulers
-
The
Scheduler should be able to interface
with Schedule Manager and Project
Management
-
Working
knowledge of network scheduling software
(Primavera P6),JMS scheduling
-
Knowledge
of power related EPC scoped projects
-
The
Scheduler should possess effective
verbal and written communication and
interpersonal skills, ability and
willingness to work in both an office
and an industrial environment and
resolve scheduling conflicts
-
Possess
knowledge of shipbuilding workflow,
material processing, basic shipbuilding
knowledge and production processes is
required along with knowledge of Navy
and Coast Guard scheduling
-
The
Scheduler should have a working
knowledge of work breakdown structure
definition, resource loaded network
scheduling/CPM methods, integrated
master planning using network scheduling
tools, earned value analysis and
management methods (EVM), reading and
interpreting production drawings and
product models, database and ERP systems
-
He/She
should have working knowledge of common
office applications including
spreadsheet analysis and graphing.
Minimum Education Requirements /
Certification / Licensure For
Scheduler Job
-
Bachelor's degree in a related field and
at least 2 years related work
experience, or a High School Diploma (or
equivalent) and 5 years or more of
related work experience.
